How to Apply Your Decals

Every decal ships with three layers. A lot of people see the backing paper and the transfer tape and think something is wrong — it isn't. Here's what each piece does and how to use them.

The Three Layers

Bottom layer (white backing paper): This is what protects the adhesive during shipping. Peel this off and throw it away.

Middle layer (the actual decal): This is what you're keeping. It's the vinyl design with adhesive on the back.

Top layer (clear transfer tape): This holds the decal in place while you move it to your surface. It peels off after you've applied the decal.

Step-by-Step Application

1. Clean your surface with a damp cloth and let it dry completely. Adhesive hates oil and dust.
2. Peel the white backing paper off slowly, keeping the decal against the transfer tape.
3. Position the decal where you want it and press down firmly from the center outward. Use a credit card to push out any bubbles.
4. Peel the clear transfer tape off at a low angle, slowly. If the decal lifts, press it down again and try again.
5. Done.

Tips

• Cold surfaces make application harder — room temperature is ideal.
• On curved surfaces (like water bottles), apply the decal in sections to prevent wrinkles.
• Once applied, press the edges firmly. That's where peeling starts.

If you get a bubble after application, poke it with a pin at a 45-degree angle and press the air out.
